GHRID 2026 Highlights
Light
This year, our journey began with light, our signature project. In Ngando village, Butambala district, we carried with us 200 solar lamps—simple gifts that mean so much to families living in darkness. As we handed them out during the community meeting, faces lit up not just from the glow of the lamps but from the joy of receiving them. In this predominantly Muslim area, our mission is to bring more than physical light; it is to share the true light of Jesus. Time and again, we were welcomed with gratitude and open hearts, willing to listen as we shared His love.
Sight
In Kibbi, we witnessed another kind of transformation. Partnering with the Georginna Eye Institute, we offered free eye screenings to children and adults—many of whom had never had their eyes tested before. The wonder on their faces when they slipped on reading glasses or received eye drops was unforgettable. For those needing further care, doctors at the eye camp stood ready to help. It was a reminder that sight, both physical and spiritual, is a gift we are called to share.
Dental
Back in Ngando, we gathered the community for conversations about dental health. With each talk, we handed out small kits—containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, and even a pen. Though simple, these tools carried with them the message that caring for the body is part of honoring the life God has given.
Word
At the heart of everything was the Word of God. Songs filled the air, Bible lessons stirred minds, and heartfelt talks opened doors to deeper questions. We saw over a hundred learners give their lives to Christ—each one a story of heaven rejoicing. Gideon Bibles were placed into eager hands, and among those who became born again was the woman who owned the restaurant where we shared meals on Friday night and Saturday morning. Her decision was a powerful reminder: the harvest is not only ready, it is abundant.
